This is a tour where we will take you to some of the most famous places in Norway. You will experience big cities, small villages, mountains, fjords and valleys.

Day 1, Thursday Aug. 2, 2012
Depart USA on an overnight flight to Oslo, Norway
Day 2, Friday Aug. 3
Oslo Airport - Lillehammer
Arrive Oslo. Drive to Lillehammer. Lunch stop on the road (on your own). Check into the hotel in Lillehammer. Welcome dinner at the hotel.
Day 3, Saturday Aug. 4.
Lillehammer – Oppdal
After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive up to Lysgårdsbakkene, the ski jump arena during the Lillehammer -94 Olympics. Enjoy a beautiful view of the city and the area from the top of the hill. Drive north through Gudsbrandsdalen, and over the mighty Dovre Mountains, and arrive in Oppdal in the afternoon. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 4, Sunday Aug. 5
Oppdal – Trondheim – Oppdal
Today we are going to visit the third largest city in Norway, Trondheim. We start with a guided tour of Trondheim with a local guide. The tour ends with a visit to Nidaros Cathedral, the most famous cathedral in Norway. After a visit there, we will have lunch (on own) at the restaurant in the Tyholt Tower. The restaurant, situated appr. 370 feet above ground, is the only rotating restaurant in Norway. Enjoy the fantastic view of Trondheim and the surrounding area while you enjoy your lunch. After lunch we’ll have time for shopping downtown. If you don’t want to shop, we can suggest a boat trip out to Munkholmen, a little island which is a short boat trip from Trondheim harbour. Or you can just walk around and enjoy this beautiful city. Return to Oppdal and our hotel in the evening. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 5, Monday Aug. 6
Oppdal – Trollstigen – Geiranger
After breakfast we’ll start our journey towards the west coast and the fjords. We’ll drive up the famous Trollstigen (The Troll Path), a popular mountain road with 11 hairpin bends, before we continue further south. We drive down Ørnevegen (The Eagles Road) where we will have a photo stop of one of Norway’s most photographed fjords. We arrive Geiranger in the afternoon. At night we’ll enjoy a fantastic buffet dinner at Union Hotel.
Day 6, Tuesday Aug. 7
Geiranger – Geilo
We start the day with a fjord cruise on Geirangerfjord, one of two Norwegian fjords on the UNESCO World Heritage List. After the cruise, we’ll drive through the heart of Fjord Norway! Lunch stop (on your own) by Bøyabreen, an arm of Jostedalsbreen, the biggest glacier in Europe. We’ll cross Sognefjord, and continue through the world’s longest car tunnel, Lærdalstunnelen. Dinner at the hotel in Geilo at night.
Day 7, Wednesday Aug 8
Geilo – Oslo
On our way to Oslo we will drive through Hallingdal, and to Jevnaker where we will visit Hadeland Glassverk. Here you can try to blow your own glass! We’ll arrive in Oslo in the late afternoon, where we will stay in a hotel near Karl Johan, the main street of Oslo. The hotel is situated in the heart of the city, with lots of restaurants and shopping opportunities.
Day 8, Thursday Aug. 9
Oslo
We start the day with a tour of Oslo with a local guide. On the tour we will drive by the Royal Palace and the Parliament, we will stop and take a walk on the roof of the new opera house, walk through Vigeland Park (with all the famous statues), visit Holmenkollen ski jump arena and the Bygdøy peninsula with Norwegian Folk Museum. If we have enough time, we could also visit another museum, for example the Viking Ship Museum. Lunch on own. Farewell dinner at night.
Day 9, Friday Aug. 10
Oslo – USA
After a good breakfast, we’ll check out and head towards Oslo Airport Gardermoen for the flight back to the USA. Arrive in the USA late afternoon or in the evening.
